Smashing Cuts: The Guest

The Guest (2014) is an odd movie. It feels as though the director was given a mediocre script for a fairly generic light action movie, and tried to do something cool with it, but was ultimately held back by the script. In what is otherwise a fairly unimpressive and sometimes downright ridiculous film, we occasionally get bright spots like this transition here.
